Catching Up

So far, I have learned that I need to post more regularly. Here are my projects from the past few months.

This blue item is a diaper changing pad for one of my many pregnant friends : ) I used the Debbie Bliss pattern and modified it to have snap closures and on the inside I used a vinyl covered fabric for easy cleanup. Hopefully, it will make changing time a little easier.

My mom built the quilt top of this quilt and when she moved, I received all of her fabrics. I decided to finish this quilt with the cool new sewing machine that my girlfriend gave me for Christmas and give it to my brother for "Christmas in February" since my mom intended it for him.

As I decided to take on new types of knitting projects, one of the things that Jen had been wanting was fingerless gloves. I think they turned out pretty good!

These projects were for my sister, Morgan. I started the blanket about 2 years ago because I wanted to learn how to do yarn overs and then knitted a little hat and booties to go with it. I did a few other hats and booties because that is what Morgan said she wanted for her baby shower. About 10 days later, she had her sweet baby girl - Alyssa.

Scope and Depth

I began knitting about 3 years ago. After making about 5 scarves, I finally ventured out to other projects. I also found lots of really great yarns (anything super soft) and yarn shops (It's a Crewel World in East County, Unraveled which is closed, and now Stich & Craft in uptown) and began purchasing yarn that I liked for future projects. My cats really love the knitting projects, especially all the yarn on the bed.
I also have a bunch of fabric that I inherited when my mom moved. Now that I have a new fabulous sewing machine, maybe I will make some progress on that as well.
